Ok...so there is soo much to discuss but I don't know where to begin...... So I will do what any teacher does and create a list....
1. My dad is going down hill faster than anyone thought...
2. I am tired...exhausted is more the word...
3. Yes, I am on meds to help
4. My sister is going to move in with him, as he does not want to leave home, and I am trying to help her with the transition...
5. My brother, who has lived with my father with his wife and two children, has bailed and has no contact...

What a nightmare.. How can I get help???

Hi-

I am so sorry this has happened to your family. My suggestions, first off are:

1. Contact the ALS Society in your area and talk about your family situation - they are great with resources, support.

2, great your sister is moving in to help.

3. Don't worry on your brother leaving. Some people are simply incapable of dealing with this. I would say try not to even let it enter your thoughts at this trying time. Let him do what he needs and you do what you need.

4. Take care of you. Sleep, good meals. Look for ways to make those things happen regularly. If you are a caregiver talk to the ALS society about resources for respite care.

5. Come see us here. This Forum does not have all the answers, but you will always find people who care and who get it.

What Lenore said ...

Your local ALS society is the best place to start for everything.
