I am the daughter of a 73 year old gem of a man who was recently (3 weeks ago) FINALLY diagnosed with ALS. This all began 15 months ago when his falls began to increase in occurrence. It has been a grueling waiting game for this test and that - this specialist and that- to get a diagnosis. Despite the prognosis, he is a graceful example of maintaining a sturdiness that inspires us all. My Mother (former nurse thank goodness) is his main caregiver. I am secondary to her. I live across the street with my helpful husband and nearly grown kids. My two siblings pitch in as well. Hospice has begun. There are so many details in between the beginning and the current day as I imagine everyone's story goes. I am praying and sending good juju to each and every one of you amazing people out there forced to eat this crap sandwich. I will never again walk through this world without PALS and CALS in my heart and mind. This forum has gotten me through many nights- for this I am grateful.
