Being a Caregiver is so hard...but with this week being Thanksgiving I thought we should all spend a little time to remember things we are still thankful for even with as rough as our lives are these days.

So, I am hoping everyone will try to think of one thing they are thankful for this week--no matter how small or silly. All you members who are not Americans--please join in too!

I am thankful for Neudexta :)
I am thankful for my very loving floppy faced dog
I am thankful for Fried Turkey
I am thankful for a 4-day weekend
 
I am thankful for:

His personality
His smiles
His gratefulness
Our love
The past 7 years...
That he picked me

Our families
 
I am Thankful for Today.
I am Thankful for all the Blessings I've been given (the ones I know about and the ones yet to be revealed).
I am Thankful for Turkey!
I am Thankful for getting to know all of you here!
 
I am most grateful to the person that invented the PEG, as I feel that has extended my hubby's life. Thank you.
 
I am Thankful for:

ALS Guardian Angels - they really are angels

ALS of Mi for helping us with equipment since Medicare doesn't start till FEB

My husbands funny big grin when he asks me to scratch his head

My family who I don't know how I would be able to handle all this without them!
 
1. The second Thanksgiving with my dad since his ALS diagnosis.
2. My beautiful family... of course.
3. A lot of things that I took for granted before ALS was a part of my life... such as... my voice, my ability to breathe with ease, my ability to walk...
4. Love.
 
Oh... and my ability to EAT - especially on Thanksgiving.
 
I am thankful for the wisdom and skills I learned as an ALS caregiver over last year, and thankful I was the woman in my PALS life to help him.
 
I am thankful, that Mick got through his Peg op today and will be home as soon as his chest is clear. xx Ang
 
Nice thread. My blessings have been so numerous that I couldn't begin to list them here but I am so thankful for a loving God that holds me in his hands when I'm down and feel like I can't go on any longer, who carries me when I'm so tired and gives me strength to face each day with patience so that my husband of 40 years can spend his last days here on earth happy and stress free.
 
I'm thankful for:
my 3 beautiful daughters
my 2 delightful grandchildren
that my family puts up with my moving a national holiday so that more of us can be together
a freshly bathed dog
 
I am thankful this wonderful life I have been given . Live each day to the fullest it may be your last. Thank you JESUS
My loving, mostly close, lol caring family
My husband of 2 and a half years My soulmate. Took us forty years to find each other. We have made up for those forty years in the past. 3 years. Life is so sweet
My two wonderful boys who have given me. Three beautiful grandchildren

* Our Faith! Our Church!
* The Hot Tub....De-Stressing Device!
* That my hubby will be able to eat and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner!
* My job and health benefits
* DVDs! Movies! TV, Things for hubby to do while I am at work
* Technology!
* Anti-Depressants!
* Love!
* Forgiveness
* Time!
 
I am thankful for the holiday that reminds us to BE thankful.
I am thankful that Tom has had a slow moving ALS because he needed the time to prepare for the days we are in
I am thankful for my two beautiful children who are our future.
I am thankful for a lovely future daughter in law, because I have heard about nightmare relationships
I am thankful that I have been given the strength I need to do this.
I am soo thankful for YOGA. This is my escape, wherever and whenever I need one.

My husband who is still with me
Our son who will be home with us on Thursday
The excellent medical care from the VA Home Based Primary and Palliative Care Program
Emory ALS Clinic
Imani who is with us 10 hours per week
Treve who is the most wonderful collie dog of all time
Our new ranch home
The brand new tilt, recline, elevate power chair from the VA
Honda Odyssey van to transport us in
Friends and Family who try to make our lives bearable
Supportive Church Family
