I'ts hard to express how I feel about that. Did the military in fact give him ALS? Beyond that, I am so proud of him for serving his country. Veterans' Day certainly takes on a new meaning this year . . .

hoping you all dont mind- i would like to publicly thank my dad for serving in Vietnam. His brother was drafted, but since my dad was the oldest in the family, he thought it was his duty, so he worked it out that he would go instead.
Thanks Dad.

Course we don't mind! My dad was career AF and served during Vietnam War.

That was a sad time.

Vets deserve respect!

Thank you to all who have and or are serving our country.

Indeed, my hat is off to the vets of all our countries. Yesterday a young friend of mine, a gifted bronze sculptor, unveiled two life sized statues at a Remembrance Day ceremony here. One of a WW1 Newfoundland infantryman and another of a modern Canadian woman in the infantry. Apparently the first sculpture in the nation of a woman soldier. So to all the Brits, Kiwis, Aussies, Yanks, French and others who have served their countries, thank you.

Attached are some pix of the two statues.
