Hi, just trying to help out a couple facing all these issues.

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding assests (house, car, bank accounts, etc...) and whether or not it makes any sense to put all those things in the healthy spouse's name only...or keep it all in the ALS spouse's name only? Or keep it as joint with survivorship (sp?) ?

What if the couple is facing a possible bankruptcy?

Any suggestions or insight?

I would recommend a trust, that way everything will be handled as requested.

This is to important of an issue,,i would think an attorney would be the best to ask.

You should speak with a lawyer.

Are you both jointly liable to pay your household debts? Or are the debts in one name?

If you are facing bankruptcy already - it may be too late to start creditor proofing (at least it would be in Canada).

I think some solutions have been discovered to avoid liquidation. Probably the attorney thing is the best at this point. Thanks.
