A well-respected neuromuscular disease specialist, known lovingly to his friends, colleagues, and patients as “Doc”, has a routine of stopping by the local bar everyday after work. Doc likes to visit his friend, bartender “Dick”, and have an almond daiquiri.
Doc is so predictable, that everyday at the same time, Dick has the almond daiquiri ready waiting for Doc.
One day, as Doc is about to enter the bar, Dick panics because he is out of almond daiquiri mix. Not to worry though,, the quick-thinking Dick whips up a hickory daiquiri instead and presents it to Doc.
Ah, but Doc is not to be fooled. After taking a sip, he turns to his friend and asks, “Is this an almond daiquiri, Dick?”
“No, it’s a hickory daiquiri, Doc.”
