Me: Sorry. You might want to check your phone list. As I said, my name is Angie
Them: Are you sure?
Me: Pretty much. Checked the tag on my shirt. Yep, still Angie.
Them: Oh, you're right
Me: Thanks for reassuring me. I was starting to worry
Them: loud laughter. *disconnect*

Brilliant! I am keeping this as the most appropriate response for wrong number calls from now on. Also for telemarketers and survey conductors.

One of the fellows I used to work with would answer the phone to a telemarketer, listen for a few seconds then interrupt the marketer and say " I have a 89 Buick That I am selling, it has"...... and he would go on and on about this non existing 89 Buick until the marketer would hang up on him, and not call back.
He also used one where he would interrupt the marketer and say.. " Sir you talk to many people every day, you must have heard how I can treat my pet Yak, she has loose bowels you know and it is causing quite a problem you know "......and again he would go on about his pet Yak until the marketer would hang up.
