Are you pissed at God

I have been asked this question 3 times now by complete strangers. Since my diagnosis 9 months ago I have progressed into a wheel chair full time so I guess that I’m looking a bit desperate now days. My standard answer is “NO” I’m not pissed, I don’t think that he did this to me anyway, but if he did then he’s a mean SOB. Usually they will then quote a few verses & ask if they can pray for me. I always say sure “you can pray for me.” Normally that’s the end of it but yesterday this one guy called over his 2 buddies & they proceeded to surround me each on 1 knee and began a group prayer with each one going on for about a minute. Needless to say it looked kind of odd out in front of the Wal Mart. If I had a baseball bat I would have clocked each of them about the head.

Another pet peeve are those who are truly convinced that there are people who can cure ALS. I was out yesterday looking for a handicapped van & struck up a conversation with the sales guy who wanted to know why I was in the chair. When I told him it was ALS he got all excited & said he knew of a place to get cured. I just kind of chuckled, thanked him for his time & left. 30 minutes down the road my phone is ringing and it’s the sales guy calling telling me that he’s on the line with some lady in California who says without a doubt that she has completely cured ALS patients. He tried to make it a 3 way call but couldn’t get it to work. He has texted me her contact info. shortly afterwards.

A few months back some guy starts telling me about some church out in California that specializes in making crippled people walk again. He gave me contact info. & said that I only needed to get out to California, pray a bit, & then I would be good as new.

I know these people mean well…….but really. Is it just me attracting these people or do you have these chance encounters to.
