Hello all, thanks again for the support/responses to my first post.

my mom's condition has worsened a little in the past weeks, and i am fearful that she will soon not be able to do a lot of everyday tasks. i have heard that some people become quite debilitated even before being officially diagnosed with als.

does ohip provide homecare services? if so, what sort of care do they provide and how do you apply for it?

thanks in advance for any info.

I'll get my wife lee to post tomorow. she knows more about that than i do.

Hi:
the homecare services and other help are provided and the best way to get it started is by having your mom's family doctor get the ball rolling. if she's been diagnosed with als, it should be relatively straightforward and if she's involved with the clinic at sunnybrook then it should be moving along now.
cheers
t.
