Hi Guys,

Whilst I'm waiting for neuro appointment doc wants me to go and have a laryngoscopy done to rule out other causes of my "upper airway dysfunction."

Has anyone here had one before and if so what was it like? Should I be scared?

Cheers, Kaz:???:

I haven't heard anyone mention it here before but that doesn't rule it out. I had a similar test once where they put a camera down into my stomach to check for ulcers. I was sedated but semi awake. Not too big a deal at the time but I was quite a bit younger. The thing looked about 4 feet long and was about as big around as an average size pen. I wouldn't be too scared there are other tests that are less fun. Take care.

Hello Kazzy,

I too have had the scope down my throat to check for the ulcers and the thyroid area. When i had mine i was put completely out. Don't remember a thing about it and there was no pain. Hope this helps ease your mind.
