Hello:
I do hope you don't mind my jumping in and posting, however, I thought this seemed this appropriate time to introduce myself and talk about a new initiative we have launched at the ALS Society of Canada.
My name is Laurie Pringle. I work as the Senior Manager Philanthopy for the ALS Society of Canada. June is ALS Awareness Month in Canada and in countries around the world.
To help spread awareness of ALS everywhere, ALS Canada has launched http://www.MyALSStory.com
We would like this initiative to take advantage of the ability of the internet to cross borders and spread awareness around the world to the many incredible stories of people and families everywhere whose lives have been impacted by ALS. This can be someone with ALS, family members, friends, colleagues - you name it! If someone has a story to share, we want the world to hear it.
Nobody can talk about ALS better than you can. If you are comfortable sharing your story, please visit the site and share your story. We need to make more people aware of ALS - and to do that, we need your voice.
The website will allow you to post a link to your story on twitter and facebook. You are also free to place a link in your story to your own personal webpages and/or charity of choice, anywhere in the world.
The ALS Society of Canada is on twitter and facebook. If you have any questions you can contact me directly at LP@als.ca or "tweet" us at @alscanada. If you're on facebook, feel free to "friend" me. You'll find my public profile listed as Laurie Pringle.
Thank you so much, for taking the time to read this post.
I hope to have an opportunity to get to know you all better in the future.
Sincerely,
Laurie Pringle
