Hi Al,
So a second post of mine got sent to review....I feel like I am on the watch list....any insight as to why this is happening? Not to be paranoid or anything...
The software has a list of flag words that it grabs as possible spam. I have no idea what they all are. I do know that Rolex, the name of Del's dog is flagged. Rolex is a watch name often duplicated and sold on the internet cheap. You must have a word in your post commonly appearing in spam. I'll have a look.
AL.
I wonder if the problem Lydia had in seeing advertisements and links that were not visible to others ( a thread on the do I have als forum, subject: choking on saliva and phlegm) is part of the same trouble she is having with posts being sent for review... I don't know much about spyware, trojans etc, but coupled together, that is a second problem she is having using this forum that other members have not reported.

Hi Lydia,
Just wanted to let you know that you're NOT on watch or anything like that :)
The system is very non-judgmental and somewhat unbiased in the sense that it simply just looks for certain keywords and automatically sends the post/thread for review if any of those keywords are found.
Threads/posts are moderated somewhat quickly, so don't worry too much, they'll be approved quickly enough. There's no need to repost :)
Cheers,
David

I've seen the advertisements also. I think it was a couple of weeks ago and it was only one time. One of them was a google ad that seemed dubious to me, well they were all dubious. I thought it strange ads would be on this site. The ads were at the top of the page. But it hasn't happened since.

Regarding the advertisements. I suppose the site is using google ads.
If you are not logged in as a member and you go to this page:
www.alsforums.com/forum/index.php
you will see google ads on the left and in the middle of the page.
I found this out by using a neighbor's computer this afternoon, so I wasn't automatically logged in.
