Hi Susan welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your husband, I know it's very difficult. I think you have come to the right place for support and information. Another good place to check out is http://www.alsindependence.com it is a website run by a gentleman who has ALS and has had it for 12 year or so. If you want someone to talk to you are most welcome to email me anytime. I just lost my mom on November 8, she died of ALS and I was her caregiver for 25 months. Feel free to email anytime, for a shoulder to cry on, for advice, to vent, whatever. Hang in there. My best to your husband.
