very swollen legs, ankles and feet

hello everyone...becca here...today i was with my mil and we noticed her legs ankles and feet are very very swollen. we are concerned she may have a blood clot...but she seems to have no pain...have any of you had experience with blood clots with ALS? any info would be helpful...i know everyone reacts differently at different times, but we are trying to prepare ourselves for what this might be... thanks all for your kindness in responding.

Go onto the People With ALS -"PALS" forum and look down the list of threads for the one "How do you deal with swollen feet?" started by jskierz. Click on it and go to Al's post which is #2. He has a link to a website that deals with this very question. the website is by an RN named Diane Huberty who has ALS and she has excellent info there for PALS and CALS.
