My husband's ALS clinic recommends that Pals get a pneumonia shot. My husband has an appt. on Tuesday to get one. Seems like a good idea to me, especially since his cough is getting weak. Anyone out there have any negative experiences or effects from the shot that we should be on the watch for? Thanks as always!

No problems with mine. Felt a bit crappy for a day 2 days later. Related, who knows.

My husband had no negatives associated with the shot. He also got the Flu shot.

Rick got a 5 year pneumonia shot a couple months ago. Not any reaction
whatsoever to the shot that we could note. Rick has a lot of congestion
in the morning and sometimes he almost chokes. He has had only one cold
in three years, but we are told pneumonia is soon to come if not very careful.

I got one and did not have any reaction at all. I still got pnemonia because a different strain came around this year! Apparently there are dozens of different types.
