View Full Version : Question about Feeding Tube

To anyone who has experience with a feeding tube:
I have had a tube for almost a year now, with good success. However about a month or two ago it started leaking around the stoma (opening to stomach) every time I gravity feed unless I do it extra, extra slow. It also leaks when I use the syringe to take my medicines and water.
The surgeon changed the tube about two weeks ago, as he did not know what was causing the leak, but the new tube leaks also. Any suggestions?
I have someone from Extra Mural coming to look at it tomorrow, but thought my forum friends might have the answer.
I have a skin level grastrostomy tube, made by Kendall called Enstristar.

Sorry Granny... the only leakage that I encountered was when the top popped off. It usually happened during transfers from bed to a chair or chair to wheelchair and also when she was wearing something nice and we needed to be somewhere!

Good Luck

T.
