View Full Version : Chin or Head Controls?

Hello All!

As my mom's right hand (the last limb!) is becoming quickly immobile, I was wondering if any here can talk about experiences with chin or head controls for their power chair. My mom relies on her chair to tilt and recline through the day in order to alleviate pressure. Plus I worry about her not being able to do what she wants when she can't get to the joystick.

And as much as I love getting up every few minutes and moving her hand to the joystick, I think she'd prefer a bit more independence! Her breathing isn't good, but she's still able to mover her head. We should have gotten one of these when we first got the powerchair but it took them nearly 8 months to get the chair. By then she had totally different symptoms!

Thanks for any and all input!

Kaija

Lorie-

Do you happen to know the brand or model that Tim uses?

Hi Lorie,

I used the Magitek (http://www.magitek.com/) head control for a couple years, and really liked it. She should be able to access tilt and recline through the system also.

Mike
