My name is Rob, I have had ALS symptoms since late 2003. I had a mild stroke in 2004. I complained to the neurologist about the muscle weakness I had and after all the test it was determined that I had AlS. I have started taking Lithium about a week ago, My doctor at the ALS clinic perscribed it for me.

Are your arms and legs affected?
My husband has PMA and it affects from his waist up. Legs are still strong.
Welcome to the best info site for ALS patients and caregivers. It has been a life line for me.

Welcome to the Forum. Glad you found the group, sorry for the reason you had to look in the first place.
Just read some good reports on some trials with the lithium that sounded good. Let us know how it works.
