Does anyone know if taking steroids can cause harm or good? I tried researching old posts, but I couldn't get my answer. I am asking, because my husband broke out in hives and the family doctor gave him a steroid shot and a rx for prednisone for a week. Our regular doctor was booked yesterday, so we went to another office in the practice. This guy didn't even have his chart, so I hope didn't do anything to cause this to go crazy again and speed up. I'm such a worry wart when it comes to him... I wish I could put him in a bubble and keep him right where he is, preserve him somehow. LOL

Any info would be great. Thanks.

He might be able to hit more home runs. Sorry, couldn't resist that one. Seriously though I don't think short term use to treat temporary conditions is supposed to do any harm. To save your peace of mind, can you call his regular doc today and ask him his opinion.
