I just wanted to let you all know that my Dad passed away in his sleep early this morning (January 20th, 2008 ).

Thank you all so much for your advice, support and comments over this past year. It has been a difficult battle.

So sorry to hear about your loss. My mom passed away the morning of the 18th just two days earlier than your dad. I wasn't there and I kind of wish I had been. It was so early in the morning and she was sleeping peacefully when she went with no pain thanks to hospice. It is really hard to lose a parent. I also lost my dad 3 years ago to a sudden heart attack. It is a weird feeling. I do not have any grandparents left or parents and I am only 35.

Thank you all for your kind words. I still miss my Dad very much. It still feels like yesterday.

I hope they find a cure for this awful disease soon.
