i began with umn signs 8yrs ago ,but i get on/off fassc and have hip girdle limb muscle weakness and now starting with shoulder girdle limb weakness.my speach is also more slurred.i have hypotonicity which is a lmn sign,so neuro dont know if itis pls or umn onset als or started as pls and progressing to als.i do know hypotonia in mnd can be progressive and life threatning.it is loss of muscle tone and a loss of ability of muscles to contract it can effect breathing muscles.this is a very worring sign for me,ive lost weight but no atrophy.i hope your husband does not have als,has he had recent emg.im going to get one done to put my mind at rest.

We saw the dr. this past mon. After the EMG the dr feels he is progressing to ALS. It seems that this is progressing slower than the average. We are still rather numb with the whole thing. Please keep us posted to what's happening. We are all in this together.
