I was diagnosed in Oct.2006 and just had a PEG placed two weeks ago. I would still like to drink some liquids but find that when I drink and swallow, my back teeth seem to bite the insides of my cheeks. Has anyone else experienced this? Any remedy for it? thanks

Did you try tucking your chin while you swallow? It is supposed to help with chocking but it may keep your jaw in line and away from your cheeks. Just a thought...

I too bite my cheeks. What a drag! I mostly bite the insides of my mouth when I am sleeping.

Hopkins ALS Clinic recommended I use a mouthguard. You can just purchase at the drug store. Need to be honest and let you know that I haven't done it yet. I plan to but...

Good luck.
