Hi Everyone,
Thought this prayer was appropriate for this forum...
This is my 2nd post (1st was saying Hi), my sister was dx in Aug. of 2007, she is a little worse each day. A friend sent this to me and it really touched me...I hope it will touch each of you as well...

A New Year's Prayer

May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God's love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.

Hi Nell and welcome to the forum. My husband was DX 8/07 too. It is difficult and painful to watch their decline and be powerless to stop it.

I really like the poem you posted! :) I was having breakfast with a friend the other day and I was telling her how I tend to be a worrier. Then she said something to me that just seemed to click.:-D

If you are going to worry, then don't bother to pray, but if you pray, then you don't have to worry! Makes good sense to me.

Wishing you and your family a new year with many happy times together.

Linda
