When you have a DX ALS and if your muscle get really soft do they ever get hard again?

I understand you have questions but can you please stop making some many new threads each day. Many of your questions have already been addressed and can be found using the search at the top of the page or are related to questions you've previously asked and can be in the same thread.

To answer your question basically no. As neurons die off the neighboring neurons try to pick up the slack however there is a limit to the amount of muscle an individual neuron can attach to and control. As more and more neurons die and more and more of the living neurons reach their limit portions of the muscle are no longer attached to the nervous system and are no longer used. As time goes on the muscle fibers begin to waste from lack of use (atrophy). Since at this point neighboring neurons have already reached their limit their is no way for this wasting muscle to get reconnected to the nervous system and as such will not rebuild and strengthen.
