Disgnosed swallowing difficulties

Hello, I have not been diagnosed with ALS, however a lot of the signs I have point to it. My grandmother died of ALS. I have occasional twitching, muscle weakness, breathing difficulties and now I am having esophageal spasms. It is making swallowing very uncomfortable. I also have an exaggerated jaw reflex. I go to the MDA clinic in Jan, but any advice is appreciated. Does this sound like ALS?

Hi Jen- welcome to the fourm. Sorry you are having all these symptoms. Since your Grandmother had ALS you must be especially anxious. I wish we could say for sure wether or not you need to worry but it is hard enough for the docs to DX MND, never mind us lay folks. There are quite a few people around here in your situation, though. Stick around. It gets easier- not knowing- as time goes by. At least it does for some of us. Cindy
