I'll be getting an MRI of my spine in about a week. I've already had two of my brain which were normal. In terms of ALS or another motor neuron disease, will an MRI show anything?

I'm trying to find out the same thing. I have a lesion at C6. I posted a similar question in the PLS room because I've been dealing with sx for 3 years, so I'm sure it is not ALS but thought it could be PLS. I hope we both get an answer.

Here is a link that may shed a little light on MRI in ALS:

http://books.google.com/books?id=am7iOk6UEkcC&pg=PA193&lpg=PA193&dq=als+mri&source=web&ots=-_DY3WpI60&sig=qf8YHE_A8_mnFFnx4ABvbtfmGio

My husband's MRI came out normal.

Also, here is a rather extensive explanation of MND. the site is not sleek and polished, but has a lot of info.
