As a relatively new ALS sufferer, it would be helpful to know the costs of care at various stages of ALS. I really have no concept of the costs.
An example would be: ( I made all this up except for 1)
Year 1 - Average monthly cost $200. (Maybe $800 if on Rilutek and no insurance.)
- Needed orthotics cost $3000
Year 2 - Average monthly cost $400
- Spent $20000 adding ramp and remodel bathroom.
Year 3 - Average monthly cost $1500
- Needed wheelchair cost $28000
Year 4 - Average monthly cost $3000 - Needed daily care givers
- Needed vent and feeding tube - $15000
Year 5 - Average Monthly cost $5000 - Needed round the clock care
