Hello all,

I'm an 18 year old with fasciculations, poor coordination, and a few other ALS symptoms.

I'm moderately seriously considering the possibility that I have ALS.

So, what is this Babinski sign? I know it has something to do with the stimulating the sole of the foot and the toes fanning out but, how exactly would you describe the test? do you touch the foot in a certain way or what?

I'm just wondering because I'd like to see if I could get someone in my house to do this, as it'd take forever for me to get in to see my doctor.

If you are worried you should go and seek professional advice. It is not something that can be diagnosed at home and even the experts find it a difficult diagnosis. You need an objective opinion.

If you google search babinski sign it will tell you all about it. I wouldn't put much faith in one test though.
