View Full Version : Unstoppable tickle in throat

I have been plagued lately with an uncontrollable tickle in my throat that I can't get rid of. It lasts for up to 5 minutes before letting up. I have trouble not gagging and my eyes start running etc. I have tried drinking water, coke, hot coffee, etc - nothing seems to work.
I believe it is likely nasal drainage.
It'd driving me nuts!

Can anyone share a solution? Thanks!

Can you take Claritin or one of the "dry you up" meds? Maybe a short trial of something like that until it clears up. I have had that before and it is very annoying. I think the nerves in the back of the throat get irritated and that gets the eyes going! Good Luck. Leslie

I took a Claritin allergy pill last night and it really seemed to help - never thought it could be an allergic reaction of some sort because it never happens to me.

Thanks.
