Has anyone ever heard of identical twins being diagnosed with ALS?

I understand that the majority of cases in ALS are sporadic, but without any family history, how can an 11-year old girl with the exact same genes and chemical and physical makeup as her sister, who does not have symptoms, have ALS?

Also, how reliable is the SOD gene mutation testing?
