My wife is 37 years old and diagnosed on Dec. 11th 2006. Currently on CoQ 10, Rilutek, and all the other things that go with it. She has recently stated that she was feeling totally exhausted. Has anyone found anything that will keep up energy. Also has anyone tried an infared sauna? Not for the detox effects but for muscle relaxation with cramping.

Unfortunately fatigue is one of the major early ALS symptoms and the most important thing is to change your habits and slow down, take many breaks, naps, etc...you just cant do as much as before--that is a hard adjustment to make for sure.

Some people do get more energy from taking B-complex vitamins.

Good Luck and good to meet you..

My dad was diagnosed in February 2007 and is already experiencing a lot of weakness and has lack of energy. He began walking with a cane but has now resorted to using his scooter for most activities. It's very difficult watching him loose so much independance so quickly. This disease is something we never thought we would be faced with...
