I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience using Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) as a medication for ALS?

I used to have a dog who had degenerative myelopathy and we had her on it and it seemed to help her for a time. I was just thinking about this drug and thought I recalled that there were a number of diseases which it claims to provide some help for.

In researching it again, I found that ALS is one such disease that some have tried and had good results to some extent.

Just wondering if anyone here had heard of/tried/etc. about this.

Thanks in advance for responses!
Nicki

It's been discussed at several ALS sites over the past 5 years. Most recently at the ALS-TDF forum:

http://www.als.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=584&SearchTerms=Naltrexone

http://www.als.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1240&SearchTerms=Naltrexone

I've never tried it myself.
