Hello All,

My mother has recently had her PEG tube surgery. All went fine, however now we cannot seem to get the last 4 in or so of liquid to drain totally out of the tube. Any suggestions or ideas.

Love to all,
Holly

I think I understand what you are saying....you want the tube to be empty before you close it off. But actually the liquid should stay right up to the tip of the tube when you close it. That's why you always flush with water to get the formula or meds moved into the stomach and just leave water in the tube part.
Also, do you use a clamp to keep the level steady in the tube when you open it up to add things? This is the way to go and no one at the hospital told us about this. It makes it much less messy!
If you have more questions of this nature, please ask.....good luck.
