My whine today is that I can't seem to stress to my boys the importance of a clean room! Nathan is 10 and Brandon is 8. And when I walk into their room I could literally scream. Add to that the addition of a pup named Cooper and I feel a little bit overwhelmed. Oh and my favorite cheese is Colby Jack. :)

Welcome, Linda. When you get the answer to that life long dilemna, please let me know. You will have to sell it and I will be the first to pur chase it. As for cheese, I am able to serve every type but bleu cheese. I'm allergic to penicillin. Don't forget the Pub, the Christian and Tea threads.

Ladies, I will send another message to Allen's wife on Thursday. Don't want to overwhelm her.
Thanks Lori. Its hard not having him around.

Linda, it's been my experience that you'll never get cheese on that one until the day they move out.

And then we are left to clean up the toe cheese they leave behind. Ask Joyce, its still fresh in her mind !

Toe cheese = a 1975 Toyota in MY garage bay, 2 "extra" motors, 2 bikes, bmx and downhill (which cost more than the car) goodness know how much other outdoor equipment and the contents of 1/2 flat, well boxed I will admit. Its not so much clean it up as store it......how long...... how long.......I don't know but I'd be willing to bet it's still here when I'm not.

Kiwi, sounds like it's time for a garage sale!! If you feel guilty about it you can give them 1/4 of the proceeds... the rest is used for whatever you want!

Allen has gone to be with our father in heaven. Welcomed by all our dear friends.
But, he has left behind so much knowledge and strength.
Silver is gone and I have no big hairy pony to feed and hug each day.
But, I have years of memories and bite marks :)

Leslie, good that you're getting the pwc tomorrow! Hope it makes you feel much more mobile...
Have you considered voice banking some key phrases before you lose your voice? Stuff you'd rather have in your own voice, like "I love you", etc. Check into Model Talker, I haven't tried it yet myself.

06-04-2012, 11:13 PM
As far as model talker goes. PM Rose. She did it with good results. Even made a you tube video. I will See if I can find it. Old posts only go back 100 posts but Allen told me a way to find older posts. Will look tomorrow.

Di, that's all that fresh air you're getting. And could you slow it down some, you're creating hurricanes over on the east coast. There's another reason your so tired.

Thanks Helen, it's been all the grandkids I have been watching for the past week, I quess they (the parents), havent a clue yet how this affects a person..........still waiting, so glad there are a few older ones to do the work, yet I am always trying to keep track of who is where doing what, mentally draining and with all the heartache lately makes it harder to consentrate.

Hi all, Di, you must be tired, you confused Toto with me! :)
Sad about Sharlene's Dad, at least she was with him at the end... I know I wished for that when my Dad died unexpectedly 13 years ago. So hard to lose, yet a blessing by the time it comes I guess... sadness abounds.

Grasshopper pie
Has a biscuit base, but you use chocolate biscuits. Melt marshmallows and cream, flavor with peppermint and make it green.
Set it in the fridge, top with whipped cream and chocolate flakes.........it's like a giant after dinner mint.
An English recipe.
Veeeeeery rich indeed. Might have some for breakfast :)

Yum! My daughter learned a camping versions of that... I think you take Bisquik dough and put it in tin foil... add marshmallows and a york peppermint patty, wrap it up inside the dough, and foil, stick it in the campfire. Yummy!

WHINE: Nothing like getting tbe $hit scared out of you at 4 a m. I woke to hear (yeah, I was asleep), noises in the hallway: someone moving my manual wheelchair as well as my geri chair. Lots of commotion. Then I hear the freezer door open and ice noises. So I A$$ume its my daughter getting ice water. So, I'm still a little worried because she's never gotten up in the middle of the night before. Any way, I pretend I'm sleeping just in case she comes in (we had a disagreement yesterday, so I really wasn't wanting to speak to her). I hear footsteps, I'm pretending, the footsteps stop, I open my eyes to see this really big guy standing beside my bed. I let out this pathetic "Oooooh", Good to see my voice is going to scare a killer away! (Spoken FACETIOUSLY)! After the pathetic squeal and I $hit myself (not really), my eyes focus, and its my husband back early from a trip. I guess, I know my heart can handle a scare like that.
CHEESE: I'm praying he gives me a bath later today! Can't get more cheese than that.

WHINE: Waiting all this time for my pwc. Called D M E and she went through the paperwork. All specialty items had to have individual prices for approval. Well, everything was processed on 4 of June. Still no letter. So she looked through her files. Oh look, an approval letter! But oops, it says approved but no payment. Now, I hate to use foul language but, WTF? She will call tomorrow. So is it going to be another 30 days? I really don't know if I can hang on that much longer.

I'm glad you came to see us here, how are you feeling these days after your hospital bout? I bet it's strange that after juggling so many things to do at the same time, you have so much more time on your hands. But still probably a lot to go through and get done.

Robin,
I, too am sorry your blue. And like the others, we all miss him too. I know its nothing in comparison to your loss. I am glad that you have come, now let me tell you a secret. You can't leave us! Nope, not ever. But soon you'll realize that you don't want to leave. As you take care of business, you will not be alone. I will be there with you as well as all of Allens friends. We will hold you up, when you become weak. We will hand you tissues everytime you need to cry. And when you think you can't go on, we will walk with you down the path. Remember, you are never alone.
