Still waiting to get a referal to an ALS clinic but have another question. I have noticed a major increase in the severity of hiccups. In other words when I drink a fizzy beverage the normal hiccup has turned into a very loud and dramatic event. My diaphragm make a serious attempt to split my shirt and the noise is a little on the humorous side. Is this something others have noticed?

Welcome to the forum, Riz. Let's hope when you have your first appointment they have better news that what you suspect. I can't speak to the hiccup question but I can say that all of a sudden the woman who once had a cast iron stomach now gets heartburn over plain toast. Don't know what this means, either...

Hi Riz and welcome!!:-D

Anything with the diaphram will cause them or, as Cindy said, heartburn!
Hiccups are a pain! I chew on a sugar cube and they go away.

Cheers
