Well this week I have got to experience having als and a cold. I thought I had a simple cold and then it turned into a ear infection, coughing, congestion and all the yuk to go with it. Please take my advice, if you even feel a touch of cold coming on see your Dr. ASAP. I thought I had it under control but it took a turn for the worse, I haven't felt this bad in years. Take Care, Rhonda

Rhonda,
Sorry you are sick. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I wanted to mention a machine that helped my PALS when she had a cold or needed help clearing her lungs. The RT provided a "Cough Assist" machine that really was a huge help. There are other devices available as well depending upon the help needed.

Take care,
Jeanne

My GP told me at the first signs of a cold get in to see him as it can turn to pneumonia easier with compromised lung function and possibility of being run down because of the ALS. AL.
