View Full Version : Atrophy with pain or stiffness?

Hello,

Am curious if muscle atrophy is associated with either pain or stiffness while atrophying?
Or do the muscles simply atrophy only for one to notice weakness thereafter?
More plainly, can atrophying muscles mimic pulled muscles or muscle pain/tightness?

Thank you.

Robert

Hi Robert. Mine feel cramped or like a pulled muscle most days. Especially my calf muscles. AL.

Hi Robert -

For me, tightness/stiffness yes but pain no. With atrophy you also see shrinkage of muscle mass. However, muscle stiffness, tightness, or pain alone does not mean that atrophy is occuring.
