When I lost my job about 3 years ago due to my weakness I was worried how I would take care of all of the bills and the medical expenses. I applied for medicare as my Doctor advised me to . I heard that it takes medicare up to 1 year for benefits to kick in .
I thought that I would get medicaid to cover me until then ..I went in to the medicare office for my interview with the case manager. After the interview the manager told me that I would be receiving my benefits right away. I couldn't belive my ears .
I got disability pay and parts a and b medical coverage. I also got back pay for the first call I made to them about a year before . And the medical benefits were retroactive back to that date .I don't know if everyone is made aware of this information so I thought I would put out the word for anybody that's facing the same dilemma.
