Does she have a hospital bed? My husband can not move at all and sleeps in a hospital bed. We adjust it so that his knees are bent and his head is slightly elevated. We put a memory foam pad on top of the mattress and he stays pretty comfortable all night.

They make alternating pressure air mattresses that can work well for ALS patients.

Hi we have a hospital bed and a while ago trialled a mattress with air cells as described by Al above. The company here that supplied it is called Pegasus healthcare. Perhaps look at the website and see the section on dynamic air mattresses. Maybe they can point you to a distributor of a similar product in your area? We found it very good but at the time we were not ready for it

Thanks

Chris
