Hi Katrina,
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. It is scary to watch someone you love suffer so much. My mom had ALS and I cared for her for over 2 years, I was scared and overwhelmed the whole time!
Katrina I think you reached out to a really good group. People here have first hand experience of this disease and seem very helpful.
I agree that it is easier to talk to someone who understands what ALS is and is going through the same experience or has gone through it. I found out my "true friends" during my mom's battle with ALS, needless to say I have less friends now but I know that the ones I have will be there no matter what.
If you want to contact me, please send me a personal message, I will be sure to reply.
ps - I used to live in Toronto, loved it there, miss it now. I'm a Newfie living in British Columbia.
Hang in there Katrina,
