My beautiful brother will have been gone a year on the 15th. I wanted to put this in as I will be away at a wedding for my nephew. Instead of wedding favors he is giving out cornflowers at the reception and telling everyone he is donating money to ALS instead. It is going to be very hard! Don't really feel like partying, but if his wife and kids can go so can I.

Sending Virtual Hugs to you!!! ***((((HUGS)))***

All the firsts are going to the hardest, hopefully with time the pain will be less. I love that they are donating the money to ALS.

What a wonderful memorial video Colleen. I almost feel like I know your brother and his clearly cool family. Wes looks like he enjoyed a good party so try and enjoy the wedding for him.

Colleen, your brother was a lucky guy to have you as his sister. You are an adorable, kind, funny, wise, and loving woman. I am so grateful that you are here on the forum and I hope you spend the weekend celebrating the happy memories of your brother's life with your wonderful family. The video is very touching. Thank you for sharing that with us.

BIG HUGS!

Thanks for all your caring words. Am feeling pretty weepy these days. Hope to get it all out of my system before I hit Manitoba! And yes, John , Wes loved to party. He had an open bar at his funeral!:) I think that about explains him! Always had someone at his house having a shot or a beer. Everyone loved him very much! thanks for all the hugs.

After such great feedback I broke down and decided to watch the video. I didn't initially because I didn't think I could watch it without crying and guess what, I was right. I didn't make past the first pic and my eyes welled up. What a beautiful tribute! Coincidentally, we named our new baby Wes :) He is 8 weeks old now.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Mare, you are right the painful memories are slowly fading. But the wonderful memories just make me miss him more! Made it through the wedding and as you can see made the drive there and back safely. I can only make it half way through the CD. First time I watched it since the funeral when I put it up here, so am slowly getting better. Kept busy with my sister in law on the 15th. Wasn't going to try and drive home alone on that day! You guys are all wonderful and supportive. Thanks again.
