My husband screened for the SB509 trial yesterday at Hopkins. As others have noted, it involved blood work, EKG, general check-up, rectal exam to screen for cancer, breathing test. Most importantly, it required that he first noticed symptoms less than 3 years ago. We met this criteria, but it was close as it took us 6 months before we sought treatment, and then another year before he was diagnosed.
We will keep everyone posted.

Hey, I had the injections today. Not to bad. 15 in each leg, 10 in each arm and 6 in the neck. Neck is only part that is sore now (but my neck is weakest anyway).
Hoping it works and knowing it will have to help - up or down.
Met one other in the study. Will try and get him to post here too.
Still would like to hear from others.

My sister-in-law will be receiving her injections today. She was diagnosed in April and has progressed quickly. We are hoping this will slow down the progression. Has anyone had a postive response to SB-509?

I will be with her in thought and prayer. Don't worry after the first dozen or so shots, you don't feel it anymore, just lay there and wait for it to get over.
I don't know about responses at this time after 10 days now, I have had some hard felt faciculations in my legs and one arm. (I haven't had those for a while now.) Hopefully that means a re-connection, but the real proof will be in the nerve induction tests, they can't lie or be affected by a placebo effect.
Hang in there, God bless and keep us posted.

My sister in law went to have the injections on Thur. but after the preliminary breathing test they would not proceed because she wasn't breathing well enough. They sent her home with medication to try and improve her breathing. They will try again next month. We are hoping in the meantime that she will not progress any further.

Hope she makes it. I have noticed some faciculations that had quit months ago. Could it be re-nervation this time?

| Needles are evil
Back you needle puncturer you.
I, like Glenn, have a problem with needles. It started with nurses not able to get an IV started after trying 10 times. Seems I have rolling veins??? Oh Shutter, don't even like to think about it.
I hope it is worth the effort and you get some good results.
