I'm interested in this study. However, it would mean I'd have to fly to another clinic to participate. So many questions I have about doing that (in general, and not just for this study): I have to (presumably) just choose one study at a time, so how do I choose? It would really suck to spend time away from my family during my best remaining months, and end up on a placebo. etc. etc. How do people cope with all this?

Everyone deals with clinical trials differently, some don't do them at all while for others it comes to things you mention, travel and inconvenience. The thing to remember is any Phase II or Phase III trial is going to be placebo controlled, has to be to get accurate feedback from patients. Have you looked into the Dexpramipexole phase III trials? They will have three sites in Pennsylvania doing the trial and should start this summer.
