Default Re: PEG feeding amounts?

Debbie,
We actually live close to "roundtown" about 10 miles northeast of them. I can sympathize with your mom feeling overwhelmed. I am trying to deal with my husband's near complete incapacitation, home care, full time job with a 45 minute commute, a 10 and 7 year-olds, school activities, kids sports.... I average about 3 phone calls a day just about his "stuff". It was a wild ride after the PEG went in - everyone wanted to help - nurses, PT's, RT's, OT's,social workers, nutritionists, hospice people. 11 calls in one day alone. I just about lost it. That lasted about a month. Things are calm now and we are in a routine. The formula we use has the caloric info on the back of each can. I doubt my husband will regain any of the lost weight but at least we can hold on to what we have. Our challenge now is that his aide is not allowed to do tube feedings and he is close to not being able to take food by mouth. Bring on the pump ! Technology is making a lot of things manageable. Tell your mom to hang in there.

Barry -
Thanks for doing the map plotting - it's made some of us feel "less alone" knowing there are others close by.
