Whoa! I feel REALLY stupid now!
That's exactly what I did when I first learned of my sister's diagnosis! I finally finished reading the book last night. But as you said, I was looking for a miracle and was sucked in. I'm more intelligent than that and should have known better, I guess. But when you're deep in denial, I guess you'll turn to anything that might seem to be helpful.
Kudos to you, upila, for actually trying to call the doctor!
