i went to my doctors today...she has seen me a bunch lately about anxiety issues - twitching all over, some tingling and other weird sensations..

she said that i do have fasiculations in my tongue. i cant feel them and i have no weakness and no trouble swallowing, i cant tent my cheeks and everything.

but i am so scared i have bulbar als, she is sending me to a neuro.

does this sounds like it could be? i am ONLY 22!

i thought that als started with weakness and atrophy and twitching came later?

could this be anxiety and benign?

please help, i am distraught right now.

david please calm down.
i think your doctor was irresponsible and not qualified to determine if your tongue fassic,s mean anything.
you dont have any weakness or other symptoms so my bet is they are probably benign.
you need to ask your doctor for some anxiety meds, others with bfs have done this and the twitching calmed down.

Hi, David ...

could this be anxiety and benign? please help, i am distraught right now.

Benign tongue fasiculations are very, very common. The odds are very much in your favor ...

Good luck,
BethU
