So I had my EMG last month on my whole left side including tongue and back came back clean but I'm having symptoms on my right like my hand and forearm twitching my hand feels stiff and difficult to use just scared maybe the should've done my right side freaking out feels like it's getting worse but my Neuro doesn't want to give another one

Will, you are officially cleared of ALS. The hard thing for you is convincing yourself of it.

You have classic features of health anxiety including difficulty accepting that you don’t have a dread disease.

I’m going to quote our moderator Nikki’s response to another poster, as this advice will benefit you as well:

“People with health anxiety are frequently not reassured by an emg. They decide it was “ too early” not done in the right places or not done correctly. None of those things are realistic - but health anxiety tells them that.”

Your next mission, should you choose to accept it, is to celebrate your good health, get your fears and anxiety under control, pursue your dreams, and have a great life.

Will, the nerves begin to die in ALS all over, well before weakness occurs, so only doing one side is not an issue.

Best,
Laurie

My Neuro told me an EMG can be done too early that's why I'm freaking out I had my EMG 4.5months into this

Will, your neuro tested your most affected side and where you first reported issues- where, if you had ALS, the emg would have shown issues.

For other readers, past posts:
https://www.alsforums.com/forum/do-i-have-als-als/42407-scared-als.html
https://www.alsforums.com/forum/do-i-have-als-als/42627-neuro-update.html

Both threads were closed because you were using the threads to work out your health anxiety and they were not productive. You were asked to post only after you had received your emg report. Which you have just done- and which clears you of ALS according to the neuro. This forum is not for you. You may be convinced you have ALS despite what the doctors have told you and the replies you have received here, but no one else thinks you do.

You can believe the specialists and the people here or not, but this forum is not here for people who are not diagnosed with ALS. The people on this forum do not need to be convinced you have it despite the emg results, nor are we going to continue trying to reassure you if you do not believe anyone- that is a fruitless endeavor. That's a whole lot of effort and energy better spent elsewhere. Please seek proper in person medical care and work on finding other ways to manage your symptoms and anxiety.

I refer you back to the last part of the https://www.alsforums.com/forum/do-...-common-concerns-about-possible-symptoms.html thread, paying specific attention to the sections titled When You're Wrong and Finally.

Please stop feeding your anxiety by trying to engage and convince people here. I am closing this thread. Do not open another.
