Hot flashes

What's the deal with the hot flashes? I believe it's related to air hunger right? My Dad gets them when he's exerted himself (eating or going to the bathroom) so i assume air hunger...

It can be -- basically the body running out of energy and so unable to regulate temperature and/or other functions like digestion and breathing as well.

And it can manifest as hot flashes, chills or both.
