I can barely walk with walker. I have PWC and use a hospital bed.

Wife wants to do one more cruise, but I envision all the problems transferring and getting in and out of bathroom and bed!

I now can get out of hospital bed if I raise it until feet barely touch ground.

Am I crazy, or is there a way to get a portable lift smaller than Hoyer lift.

Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated!

I don’t know about the Hoyer but I’m sure others will weigh in. It’s possible something like that could also be rented.

There is a thread on accessible travel about 9 threads or so down in this forum. There are some pretty good tips there. There are also companies that put on accessible trips.

There are a couple of foldable, portable lifts that can brought into the ship, if your cabin has the room to store them. These include the Molift Smart, Liko Light and Hoyer Advance. Depending on your departure port, some companies will rent you a lift and/or hospital bed for the cruise.

Also, of the lines/voyages that offer accessible staterooms, that term means different things, so you want to ask them for exact details including bathroom layout. There are also travel agencies that specialize in accessible (also may be called "disability") travel, if you Google around.
