Re the Vasowraps--they are made of a special light material that redirects the body's own heat, so they don't cause sweating as, for example, throwing an electric blanket on top could do, and generate more heat-for-weight than fleece or wool. With a hook and loop fastener, they can stay on and be comfortable. So you would still want the core to be covered, but they help keep the lower body from chill/causing chill overall, if that made sense.

Yes, that did make sense, thank you! Its odd though, with the lack of circulation her feet and legs are like ice but she says they aren't cold, I would think she would be freezing!

The electric throw is lightweight and could be draped over the arms of her wheelchair. I understand about feeling trapped under a heavy blanket.
Sometimes my feet and legs are very cold but don't feel cold to me, other times one leg will be hot and the other cold but both feel cold to me, it's very inconsistent.
